BCYL offers a comprehensive suite of programs tailored to meet the professional and personal growth needs of our future workforce. Our programs include:

Administrative Medical Assistant (AMA) Program

The Administrative Medical Assistant (AMA) Program provides current high school seniors with an opportunity to explore careers in healthcare while developing the administrative and professional skills needed to work in medical offices, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare settings.

Through BCYL’s partnership with Housatonic Community College, students participate in college-level instruction and career preparation designed to help them build a strong foundation for employment and continued education in the healthcare field.

What Students Will Learn

Students will develop skills in areas such as:

Medical office procedures
Patient scheduling and communication
Medical terminology
Healthcare documentation and records
Professional communication
Customer service in healthcare settings
Workplace professionalism and career readiness

Students will also have the opportunity to prepare for an industry-recognized certification through the National Health career Association (NHA).

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must be current high school seniors during the 2026–2027 academic year.

The program is ideal for students interested in healthcare careers, medical administration, patient services, or gaining experience that can support future college and career opportunities.

Program Schedule

October 05, 2026 – February 01, 2027

Mondays and Wednesdays
4:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Additional workforce-readiness workshops will be offered in February 2027 to help students prepare for employment and their next steps after graduation.

Program Cost

BCYL covers the majority of the cost of the program, including college instruction and additional program expenses.

Students are responsible for a $300 program fee. Financial assistance is available for eligible students and families who may need support with the program fee. We encourage interested students to apply regardless of their financial circumstances.
